Ask us about Mitsubishi's brilliant L200
Mitsubishi’s L200 has long been one of the most impressive pick-ups on the market - and for good reason. The L200’s versatility is obvious from the off and benefits from a range of features that makes it incredibly capable and durable. The Series 5 model is the best incarnation of the L200 yet, thanks to its ability as a pick-up and its focus on safety, while its new 4WD system is among the best in the business.
The class-leading Super-Select 4WD system makes the L200 the only pick-up which can drive in 2WD or 4WD on any terrain and is available on the Titan, Warrior and Barbarian trim levels. A total of four different modes allow the L200 to match any situation put in front of it, with the Super-Select system going from 2H (2WD High Range) to 4LLC (4WD Low Range with Centre Diff locked). The latter offers a lowered gear ratio that gives greater torque for extreme off-road conditions in a multitude of conditions, letting you know that your L200 can handle itself comprehensively.
If that wasn’t enough, the new L200 has the highest total load capacity in its class with an impressive 4,090kg, thanks to its strength and factors such as the Super-Select 4WD system and the L200’s capable 178bhp diesel powerplant, serving up plenty of useful torque for all surfaces. Meanwhile, a max towing capacity of 3,100kg ensures the L200 is perfect for those weekend getaways, and Trailer Stability Assist helps give you the confidence that the L200 will safer than ever when towing.
Despite being a big workhorse of a vehicle, the Mitsubishi L200 offers economy of up to 39.8mpg and a range capable of over 650 miles. Its diesel engine contributes to this cause, while the L200’s body has been sculptured in such an aerodynamic way that the movement of the pick-up is highly efficient for a vehicle of its stature. Its design also helps with acceleration, while the all-aluminium diesel unit shaves 30kg over the Series 4’s engine to aid efficiency even further. Driving the L200 has been improved through an all-new low-ratio manual gearbox that is more responsive than ever and reduces shift length when changing gears. A class-leading turning circle, meanwhile, helps the L200 be as manoeuvrable as possible.
